Be a Northwell Health Lifer

Posted by: Sally Ann Lake

Want to know how you can transform from being an employee to a team member, a co-worker to a colleague, a worker to a star? Northwell Health offers a few hidden gems that can really make you shine – and not just as an employee, but as a person.

Be Proud and Join a BERG: A BERG (Business Employee Resource Group) gives any employee the opportunity to join (or start) an employee-based group with others who have a common interest on how to best live, work and connect.

Valor: This well-established BERG focuses their efforts on team members who have served or currently serve in the U.S. Military, have family members in the service, or are interested in issues pertaining to veterans and veterans’ affairs.

Korean, Chinese, and Latino Bridges: These three subsets of BERGs, referred to as Bridges, were formed to “bridge” the gap between Northwell Health and our communities through a shared understanding of spiritual, cultural and ethical values in the context of health care delivery.

LGBT: This group hopes to unite those whose lifestyles and/or gender are gay, bisexual, and/or transgender. Family members of the LGBT community are also encouraged to join.

Greenberg: This BERG unites Northwell Health Lifers that strive to make a difference by promoting and endorsing programs that have potential to help save our environment.

To join a BERG, login to mySelfService and look under the “Tools” tab.
